Salary & Payroll Calculator
Take-home pay after Korean social insurance and income tax, weekly-holiday allowance, severance pay and unemployment benefit. Uses that year's rates; nothing you enter leaves this browser.
A reference calculation with no legal effect. Workplaces with fewer than 5 employees owe no overtime, night or holiday premiums, and flat-rate pay, flexible schedules and shift systems are not modeled. Check your contract and work rules for actual pay.
A line without a date counts as the day after the previous line (the first line uses the start date). Dates: 2026-10-05 · 10/5. An end time equal to or earlier than the start runs into the next morning. Use "off" for a day off, commas for several spans in one line, "break 30" for break minutes, and # for notes.
Daily detail
| Date | Hours | Worked | Night | Overtime | Holiday |
|---|
Weekly totals (Mon–Sun)
Night is 22:00–06:00, overtime is anything over 8 h a day or 40 h a week (the larger of the two, never double counted), and holiday work is on Sundays and public holidays (★). Premiums add up when overtime, night and holiday overlap. Breaks are assumed to fall in the daytime.
Meal allowance (up to KRW 200,000/month) etc. It is excluded from insurance and tax.
Count your spouse and dependents, plus yourself as 1.
Put the income tax from the National Tax Service simplified table here to use it instead of the estimate (local tax is 10%).
Applies if you work 15+ hours a week and attend every scheduled day. Holiday hours = min(weekly hours, 40) ÷ 40 × 8. Monthly hours = (weekly + holiday) × 365 ÷ 7 ÷ 12, which is 209 for 40 hours.
Daily average wage × 30 × days employed ÷ 365. The average wage is the last 3 months of pay plus 3/12 of bonuses and leave pay, divided by the days in that period. If the ordinary wage is higher it is used instead, so the real amount may be higher. Retirement income tax is not applied.
Daily benefit = daily average wage × 60%, between the cap and floor. Benefit days depend on age and insured period. Other requirements (180+ insured days in the last 18 months, involuntary separation, active job search) must be met separately.
A rough guide with no legal force (Korean Labor Standards Act, Art. 60). Workplaces with fewer than 5 employees are exempt, and results change with attendance below 80%, leave of absence or your company rules.
Under 1 year: 1 day for each fully attended month (max 11). From 1 year: 15 days, plus 1 day every 2 years from the 3rd year (max 25). On a fiscal-year basis the hire year is prorated as (remaining days ÷ 365 × 15, rounded up) and later years follow years of service. Leap years still divide by 365. A more generous company policy takes priority over the law.
Estimated employment insurance benefits in Korea. Actual amounts depend on how ordinary wages are calculated, days worked and overlapping benefits — check the Work24 simulator and your employer. What you enter is not saved or sent.
Base pay and fixed allowances; bonuses and overtime are excluded.
If each parent takes at least 3 months, each can take up to 18 months.
A rough estimate of ONE deduction (credit/debit card spending) in the Korean year-end tax settlement. It is not your total refund — insurance, education, medical and housing items are not included. Nothing you enter leaves this browser.
Salary excluding non-taxable pay (the “total salary” on your withholding receipt).
The rate of your tax bracket (6–45%). Local income tax of 10% is added to estimate the effect.
Temporary special rules (raised transit/culture rates, extra deduction for spending growth) are not included. Rates change every year and are kept in one rules table in the calculator code. For exact figures use the National Tax Service year-end settlement service.
Everything is computed in this browser; amounts are never sent or stored. Real payroll and benefits depend on company rules and personal circumstances — treat results as estimates.

FAQ
Why does income tax differ from the official table?
The official simplified table is a fixed lookup with built-in deduction assumptions. This tool estimates it with the same flow (earned-income deduction, personal deduction, insurance deduction, tax rates, credits), so it can differ by a few thousand to tens of thousands of won. Enter the table value in "Enter income tax yourself" to use it.
Is it the same as year-end settlement?
No. Monthly withholding is an advance payment based on the table; actual deductions are settled at year end. Changing the withholding ratio to 80% or 120% also changes the result.
How do I enter the tax-free meal allowance?
Meal allowances up to KRW 200,000 a month are non-taxable. Include them in the gross salary and enter 200,000 as non-taxable pay.
